Abstract

The limited information on sexual and reproductive health that our young people receive in their homes and classrooms generates an increase in teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, due to the development of inappropriate sexual habits, which are attributed to the biological approach that it has. currently sexual and reproductive education in our country, this research aims to identify the educational level in sexual and reproductive health that adolescents and young adults have in the La Huerta sector, Sucre Parish, Sucre Municipality, Mérida State. The methodology used in the study carried out was descriptive with a quantitative approach, with a cross-sectional design. The study population was people between 10 and 40 years old from the La Huerta sector, Sucre Parish, Sucre Municipality, Mérida State. The sample was 50 people aged between 10 and 40 years; The sampling was non-probabilistic, of convenience. The instrument used to carry out the study has been developed based on the Global School-based Student Health Survey for the year 2021, designed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the survey carried out by the department of preventive medicine and public health of the faculty of medicine of the University of Navarra. The conclusions determined a low educational level in sexual and reproductive health in adolescents and young adults in the La Huerta sector, Sucre Parish, Sucre Municipality of the State of Mérida. There is a tendency to start sexual relations at increasingly younger ages. The implemented strategies allowed the empowerment of the adolescent population to begin through the recognition of their individual and collective capabilities, creating autonomous and self-sufficient beings
