Digital government: a path to more efficient and closer citizen service

Abstract
Digital Government and citizen care are closely connected, as digital technologies make the interaction between the state and individuals more fluid, accessible, and transparent. The primary objective of this systematic review was to critically analyze the digital government literature from the perspective of more efficient and accessible citizen care. The PRISMA method was used for systematic verification. The search was based on standard reference descriptions from Scopus and SciELO. A combination of key terms and descriptors was used, as well as Boolean operators (OR, NOT, and AND). Regarding the origin of the articles, there were 3 from Peru, 1 from Rome, 2 from Brazil, 2 from Iraq, 1 from Argentina, 1 from Russia, 2 from Nigeria, 1 from South Africa, 1 from Germany, 1 from Nepal, 1 from Morocco, 1 from China, 1 from Greece, and 1 from Indonesia. Regarding publication dates, one article was released in 2022, three in 2023, four in 2024, and eleven in 2025. The findings demonstrate the importance of digital government in fostering transparency, facilitating.
